Cut out core of apples without going all the way through to the bottom. Peel the top third of the apple and trim bottoms if necessary so they stand up. Place in Pyrex dish.

Grate 2 tsp zest from orange. Cut orange in half and squeeze 1/4 cup of juice.

To make filling, combine walnuts, cookie crumbs, and orange zest in small bowl. Pack filling evenly into center of apples and pour 1 tsp of juice over each. Pour remaining juice into bottom of dish.

Cover dish with wax paper and microwave on medium until apples are tender (11-12 minutes).
